Mescal got to come home the thursday before christmas. She is doing much better. Recovery goes well enough. She is still a bit weak and yellow but otherwise good. Daniel is up over 7 lbs now and cute as a button. We finally got to visit this past saturday. Not everyone is doing quiet as well, one of our friends lost his wife this past friday. Prayers to Chris and his daughter. Me and mine are all doing well. Cheri has found her calling in cooking. She now attends the local career center in their culinary arts program and is loving it. The boys are enjoying all their prezzies and whats left of christmas break. The hubby's new position at work is going well. Though he is making trips to Baltimore on a regular basis. I am enjoying my christmas present as well. I got the laptop that I am currently typing this on. That is all for now. Happy Holidays to all.

It has been over a year since i have had the time or gumption to post. Many things have gone on some good, some soso. Finally made it down to the KY Faire. Twice in fact. Was good fun. Only managed to get out in my Yak a few times. Didn't make the Zoo at all. We however did produce 5 scrumptious beers over the spring and summer. We are in the process of a re-make of our Honey-Amber. It gets re-racked tomorrow. The young are doing well enough. The eldest has finally found her niche. She wants to be a chef. She has a good start and is working on getting into the career centers program. If she does well enough there she could earn a 3000$ scolarship to Sinclair. Big help. I know this because i am going to Sinclair for my Gen-Eds. I finally passed the annoying math class that was giving me issues. Next quarter is Organic Chem and Geology. ORen went well. New girl at booth this year. She was very quiet but dealt well with brandon. She did better than my eldest which probably will not be asked back. I did get to bring my mom in the first weekend of faire. She loved it and hopes she can make it next year. I finally got Siskonvich's garb finished. There are a few more things to add to it eventually. The big thing for Faire was finally getting the hubby's garb done. Yes...He wore garb to faire for the first time this year. Only took me 2 years to get it done. The Hubby has switched jobs as of the 1st of Dec. Still basically the same type o' stuff but under diff management. This section of LexisNexis can't be out sourced. Friends "chan eil fhios" have had their 2nd baby. Liam Brenden arrived Oct 30th. They have produced Another beautiful pixy baby. Other friends are Still trying for the elusive child. Fingers crossed for them. Alot of Stuff is the same ol same ol. Harumph! One would think that something would give. I am trying to dredge up a good holiday mood. However I feel...Merry Christmas to all and a Happy new year!

Today; I made it through classes. Headache from hell still rages after almost a week now. The final weekend of faire gave me a bug that i have been fighting since. It almost got me after much excess on saturday night. But it was fun. Faire went well enough, same amount of sales, smaller items though. Not as much cash. Bummer. New friends made over the run. Classes are going well enough. Doing much better in algebra than i though i would. So far it looks like all As and Bs. Just a few more weeks of the quarter left. Then its break time. Scrape the brain off the floor and put it back in skull. For some reason it seems to leak out my ears on occasion. I was given ideas for how to get "in" with the professors by my mum-in-law. She works at Wright State in the bio lab. I am deffinately not ready for all this cold weather crap. Too much yard work too little time, and nice weather. The time for dinner stuff has come and i'm starved.

I am actually going back to school. At 35. Heading off to Sinclair to get all my gen eds done. The plan then is to apply to OSU to go into their Forestry and wildlife program. I can't decide just how nervous i should be. I have 14 credit hours of classes starting Sept.6. English comp I, General Bio I, History and Math. I'm dreading the Composition. I hate to write. :(

On to other things. Finally got a different ride. One that sucks less fuel than my '02 Durango. We picked up the new car friday. Its a Mazda3s touring, 5 speed, with the sunroof and 6CD changer in Titanium silver. ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM. :)

Just over 2 weeks from now....The kids go back to school. happy dance. I will have about a week and a half before my classes start free to do as i please. I will get to go kayaking again. Oh and all that sewing for the start of faire should get finished up.

Here is to hoping garb will still fit. I was hoping Journeyman Leather would be a DIF this year so i could get my order in early. Bummer. First weekend it will have to be. I just about need to find a trunk to keep all my faire goodies in. Hmmm, Maybe a bigger house. ;)

DIF..By chance we did run into some friends and a member of "Fintan" that we know. Looked over the selection of Utilikilts. Stocked up on Welsh cookies and Shortbread...a Must. Sat in the shade for a bit enjoying company of friends and a nice cold killians and the band playing next to us.

It has been quite a while since i have posted anything with any real content. Where to start. Lets start from after my last major post, which was the beginning of faire. Faire went well for the most part. It was my daughter's first year to work at faire. She did well enough. I ended up getting not only the aforementioned silks but also a corset and a one of a kind custom leather captains coat. Journeyman leather does great work. I have yet to figure out how to top that. I'm backlogged on sewing projects. I have a total of six skirts that have been cut but not sewn. A bodice for my daughter that i haven't even started cutting. And now i have a huge pile of fabric waiting for my attention. My husband has requested garb for this year. YAY! I finally get him into garb. I just have to make it. I also found fabric for our friendly juggler. Its pieced harlequin in cream, gold, green, and burgundy silk. As much as i'm dreading being tied to my machine for as long as these will take, I can't wait to see them finished. Last weekend was the Ashville Viking fest. I got to see all the friends that I miss through the winter. We are heading up to OSU tomorrow for the faire. Hmm, It could be that i will be seeing more of OSU come fall. I'm waiting for the decision to come down from on high as to whether or not I have been accepted into the "Forestry and Wildlife management program". It is soooo nerve wracking. The waiting is driving me buggy. You would think that having waited for my children to reach an age that allows me the freedom to finally go back to school would give me the patients to wait but it hasn't. I want to know now. As to other goings on. I have been rock climbing on a regular basis for about the past 6 months. I love the challenge of getting up the wall. I also finally got to get the kayak out to the garage and back on the water. It was so nice to float on the water and watch all the birds and other critters. The nesting swallows let me coast right under them while they sat 4ft above me. I have covered a decent amount of the lake but still have a lot the explore yet. I hope to get to more of it as the weather allows. The hubby is looking at getting his own kayak this spring so he can come out with me on occasion. I found a fishing pole that is just too cute and works great for kayaking. Its all of 2ft long. I got to give it a wee bit of a trial on wednesday. I'm probably going to change out the reel but otherwise it works great and doesn't take up much space. Monday as long as the weather behaves i am going to go back out on the lake. Going to give the pole a full trial and hopefully catch something.

You scored 65 in your Blackadder character attributes
So...you think that you attract large numbers of the opposite sex. You may think you're good looking and a romantic but to members of the same sex you may be a huge annoyance. Calm down and perhaps act less over the top, many members of the opposite sex may find you too forward. You do have good points too, you probably have many admirers due to your physical and maybe mental abilities.

Where to begin. I suppose the beginning would be best. The beginning would Friday March 25.
Friday.
The day started at its normal hectic pace. The boys were bouncing off the walls because today was the start of spring break and the day we are leaving for Florida. As i prepare to load the truck it starts to rain, lovely. I got the truck loaded and now we wait for daddy to come home so we can leave. The drive goes well, our luck holds out. We stop just past nashville for the night. Making good time. The next day brings warmth and sunshine. I hardly know what to do with myself it has been so long since i've seen the two together. We make the rest of the trip in good time and arrive in Destin at 4pm Saturday.
We have rented a house type thing, it was a good deal for the time when we booked it. It has two bedrooms and one bath as well as a fully equipped kitchen. The only problem is it is in a pet-friendly resort. Yup, you guessed it. It stank of dog. While i can't boast of a perfect house(I have three kids) I refused to let my kids play on the carpeting in this place. Needless to say I will not be visiting this particular resort again. Ok that said on to the more interesting. We arrived in Destin with a bit of luck, Mapquest had messed up the directions in two separate areas of Alabama. Once arrived we discovered that the entire panhandle of Florida was under a tornado watch. The watch continued into the whole of Sunday also.
On sunday we managed to go down to the beach for a bit. It was extremely windy and the surf was way up. The beach was under a red flag. So the kids were not allowed in the water.
Monday wasn't much better. More wind, less warmth and a double red flag. Nobody was supposed to be in the water. However, there were surfers out. The kids thought that was neat to watch.
Tuesday. We had cheri stay with the boys so we could take a dawn walk on the beach. I actually found a couple nice shells. Later in the morning we took the kids down to the beach and found the flag was at yellow so they got to play. Cheri and i ended up getting a nice burn, oops. Back to the house for lunch and a break. We went back out before dinner time and walked down the beach.
Wednesday. A lazy day. Also recovery time for those with the sunburns. Daddy took the boys to the beach.
Thursday. Cheri and i went to pick out the souvenirs. T-shirts and sweatshirts for all. We also pick up the supplies for the trip home. While we were out the rain came in. Yippee more rain. I got every thing ready to go in the truck in the morning and then fixed dinner.
Friday morn. The rain is really coming down so i get to pack the truck in the rain again. I am sensing a theme to this. Ugh, The drive home turned to hell. Two arguments and a total of 4 traffic jams that lasted an hour each. No fun. We left for home at 9ish am and got home at 1:30am. I drove straight through, no trade offs. WooHoo,16 hours with minimal breaks. Go me. But we are home now and still in one piece.
All in all it was a good trip. Some minor ups and downs, but hey can't please everyone all the time.

Ahh,finally a moment to sit and type. I have spent the last few weeks trying to find the elusive"perfect gifts"for family and friends. I'm now down to about five more people who had better like what i get them. Doing any sort of shopping this late in the season usually requires at least one slug-fest with the other person grabbing for "my" item,or does this just happen to me? Once i get those last few items,it's marathon wrapping time. Oh the pains in my neck,no really,i get spasms in my shoulders. Regardless of how it sounds i really do enjoy the holidays, just not the preparations leading up to them. I have also had to deal with the emotional ups and downs of my daughter, can we say therapy. Let's say "not fun" and leave it at that for now. So,i'm a little more stressed out than usual which doesn't help but we'll get through.

Thanksgiving is done and over. The family gathering was good as was the food. Lots of eating and gabbing between people that don't see each other very often. Everyone is in good health and is having a good year, so there was much to be thankful for.

It has been a good week. I have way to many things going on this weekend to even try to make them all but would love to add at least one more thing. Lets see tonight is the members only opening to the festival of lights at the cincy zoo, also tonight is bowling outing for cubscouts. I think i know which one i'm going to make it to if any. Tomorrow not busy till lunch then three things at pretty much the same time, Lunch at mother-in-law's house with cousin, Birthday party for a friends little girl, and last but not least matt has a breaking class that he would like to go but most likely won't make. Sat. night is the usual gathering of D&D folks. Sunday, the day of rest, no plans as of yet so i could be lazy, more than likely i'll be bored off my butt. Oh yeah, just remembered Sunday is pick-up day for the cub scout popcorn, yippee. Next week then will be gathering of money from people and handing them their popcorn. I really need to find something to do that is just for me, besides working out, i'm so sore. My own fault i suppose, lifting after three months of bad attendance.
